The story begins with Joseph Richard, the founder of the firm. Mr. Richard earned his Master’s in Architecture from the University of Oklahoma in 1994 while working full-time as a project manager. After graduating, he continued to gain experience in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area before returning to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In Baton Rouge, he further honed his skills as a project manager for various firms and ultimately became a 50% partner for one of them in 1998. The following year, in 1999, Mr. Richard fulfilled his lifelong dream by founding his own architecture firm, Architects PLUS.

The cornerstone of Architects PLUS is “Architecture through Relationships;” we aim to make every client interaction a positive experience, fostering strong professional relationships that endure for years. Architects PLUS was founded to prioritize practicality and strong client relations over being a large-scale firm. Mr. Richard himself wants to deliver personalized attention and tailored solutions to each and every client. As for our design process itself, it is rooted in fundamentals such as transparency, cost efficiency, communication, and vision-to-goal pipeline.
